Problem Disas
I bought these Disas via E-Bay from Europe. Unfortunately they took two weeks to arrive and suffered as a consequence. They are Orangeade and Saffron. Orangeade in the first pic seems the better of the two but the floweris damaged (since removed). Saffron in the bottom three pics has contracted a fungal rot - treated so I have to wait and see. Buyer beware - be sure the post is fast if you buy online.
Been interested in orchids for the past 4 years, starting with a Phal bought from the supermarket. Member of the Suffolk Orchid Society in the UK.
While experimenting and finding out which orchids we liked or could grow, made the mistake of buying too many. We have now narrowed down the range of plants we are growing. A new greenhouse has been set-up for phals with heating lighting and shading to suit. We have transfered our whole collection to flood and drain hydroponics using two commercial trays and a couple of experimental home made set-ups.
Our next greenhouse, waiting to be erected will be for Disas. Happy to hear from anyone on hydroponics, growing Disas, phals or anything else interesting.
